What do you like most about your job?

The most interesting part of my job is the variety and cooperation in various construction projects. And what particularly fascinates me is to create something new and experience step by step how an idea is turned into a finished object. There is no stagnation in this business, because with every new project, new challenges and new experiences are always waiting for me.

Why did you choose this career?

Already in my school life I had great interest and joy in drawing and designing floor plans and rooms. At the job information day my curiosity about the job of a draftswoman was sparked. After completing my training as a draftswoman and several years of professional experience, I looked for further challenges and decided to start a further training as a technician, which I also successfully completed.

Have you ever been confronted with prejudices in your job?

No, fortunately I have not yet been confronted with prejudices in my professional life. However, should I ever find myself in such a situation, I would try to convince my counterpart with my professional skills.

Which skills are required to succeed in a male-dominated business?

In my opinion, a positive attitude, as well as professional knowledge, practical relevance and the ability to work in a team. First and foremost, it is important to have sufficient self-confidence and to be confident in your work and your skills. It is also important to convince your counterpart - no matter if man or woman - of your abilities.

What has been your most challenging experience so far and did you manage it?

The further training as a technician in addition to my joband family was a really big challenge for me. This required a lot of stamina, ambition and willingness to learn. Furthermore, the support of HI Bauprojekt, my colleagues and my family helped me a lot during this time. I am very grateful to everyone for that.
